Why we
created Helm.
At some point, many of us find ourselves in a position we never really prepared for. A parent gets sick. Someone we love receives a complicated diagnosis. Suddenly, we're sitting in doctors' offices, trying to understand test results and wondering if we're asking the right questions.

We assume our doctors are talking to each other, looking at the full picture, and figuring things out together. But often, that's not how it works.
We had both seen it.
As a nurse practitioner, Kristin witnessed vital clinical details slip through the cracks. Ashley, working within health systems, saw firsthand how disconnected and impersonal specialized care can feel.
Then it became personal.
When Kristin’s aunt faced a severe cardiac condition, Kristin moved from being a professional provider to being a family advocate. She attended every consultation, cross-referenced medical records, and decoded high-level data so her aunt could make truly informed decisions for her future care.

By uniting various clinical perspectives, Kristin ensured the treatment plan was cohesive rather than disjointed. This experience solidified her commitment to advocacy in complex healthcare.

It served as a powerful reminder of how life-changing it is to have an expert who truly understands the science standing right there beside you through every single step of the journey.

Few people have an expert in their circle to ask the right questions and verify that no details are being ignored.
